There’s a story that’s been written for you and for me. A narrative, beautifully crafted from before the beginning of time. It continues even today. These words are on the wind and in the rain. They’re in the rising and setting of the sun. This story, for you and for me, is ongoing. It lives, while all other tales come to an end.
THE AUTHOR IS WRITING THE STORY OF ALL THINGS FOR YOU
God, the Author and Creator of all, is writing for you and me. This is not just any tale, but a love story. It’s THE love story. Within this narrative, The Story of All Things, all other stories exist. This love story is one of perfect love. Perfect devotion. In this story, the Author wrote himself onto the page. He entered his own creation. He came to set things right. The Author entered this love story for you and me.
THE AUTHOR WROTE HIMSELF ONTO THE PAGE
When we celebrate Christmas each year, we remember the birth of Christ. We commemorate God’s birth in human form, his humble entrance into the story. God came, not as a king, but as a child. An infant. Helpless. Vulnerable. The Author’s entrance was carefully planned, yet he wrote himself onto the page in the most unexpected way. God chose the perfect moment, the exact right time, for his entrance to ripple across every page to come.
THE AUTHOR CAME WITH PURPOSE
The Author did not enter the narrative for fun. He did not come down like a Norse god to play tricks or make his own entertainment. Rather, the Author came with purpose. He came to fix what humanity broke. With one choice in the garden, one man and one woman ushered sin into the world. Everything fractured. Every page forward would be tainted, discolored by the reach of sin. But God, the Author and Creator of all, came down to make a way forward. He came to redeem his creation. He came to release the grasp of sin. Because of love, he came.
THE AUTHOR DIED AND ROSE FOR YOU
God, the Author and Creator of all, became human for you. He lived a perfect life for you. He hung on the cross for you. God BECAME sin for you. The Author of all creation, in the form of the Son, died and rose for you. He conquered sin and death so that you might live with him. So your pages are forever bound to his. You cannot separate yourself from the love of God that was made flesh in the body of Christ Jesus.
Surely, the Author entered this love story for you.
THE AUTHOR IS WRITING YOUR STORY FOR YOUR GOOD
Your story is part of The Story of All Things. The greater narrative is one of love and sacrifice. It’s a tale of devotion, betrayal, redemption, and victory. The Story of All Things is written by a masterful Creator. This same Creator cast all things into existence. He planned for you and for me. This same Creator sees our personal stories and the delicate threads that meticulously weave each one of us into The Story of All Things. This Creator sees and knows us intimately.
This Creator, this Author, is writing your pages for your good. The Author of all things knows your every want and desire. He is at work, even in your moments of suffering. The Author is writing each page of your life for your good.
