I can’t think about deep, emotional things more

I can’t think about deep, emotional things more than one day in a row, so I’ll deviate from yesterday’s post to something lighter…🌱🌿🌻🌺

Last fall we had to tear out my old garden beds. We had a plumbing issue beneath the garden. 😵‍💫 We’re in the process of leveling new galvanized beds. “Why would you put them on a hill?” you ask. Because this is the smallest hill in the backyard. 😆

With this new layout, I’ll have almost double the square footage that I had before. I’m excited to plan a layout and begin planting. I garden by the square foot, so things get packed in tight.

Do you grow real food at home? What do you grow? When does your garden season begin?

(I envy those who can grow straight in the ground, but our neighborhood was built on rock and clay. We have hardly any top soil. Raised beds for the win!)

This past weekend was gorgeous in the Ozarks. I spent Saturday at an outdoor Easter Egg Hunt and Sunday at the creek. I pulled a tick off me both days when I got home. Tick diseases are nothing to mess around with (especially for those of us who have experienced mold illness - they're related), but I refuse to live in fear.

Be tick aware. Check yourself, your family members, and your pets when you get home. Check every time. Shower and change clothes when you come inside. I generally use a homemade tick spray in the summer. I suppose it's time to get that ready. Tick season is here and it appears to be an active one! Be safe, friends!
